Hi, I’m Carah.
It all started in 2011. My health declined even though I was a 'healthy' person. With an awesome man by my side and 4 kids, changes had to be made.
What is holistic wellness, and why did it help me so much? Holistic means comprehensive, which includes more than just nutrition, exercise, and some supplements, even though all those things are necessary and a good starting point. It’s learning how we need to incorporate all of these things individually, and keeping a balance in all these areas. And, it’s not a one size fits all. That is what I have learned through this process, as I studied and developed a holistic (comprehensive) lifestyle with my family, I learned to adjust the needs of each member as I went. Boy, was that a lot to do alone! This is why I’m here to help you.
I was diagnosed with cervical dysplasia, a prolapsed uterus and bladder (thanks to 4 pregnancies very close together), bladder infections, kidney infections and kidney stones, a thyroid imbalance which included symptoms of hair loss, loss of my eyebrows, mood swings, all those ugly things that come along with thyroid problems. I also had chronic hives from stress, panic attacks, and horrible separation anxiety. Being a firefighter’s wife I inherently had stressors, but I was already a worrier.
With that said, my goal is not to diagnose anyone, but to coach you along to improve your holistic wellness so that you can achieve your goals. That is the kind of help I received from my Naturopath and Nutritionist.
Where am I with my health now? I have been free of dysplasia since 2013, I have improved my prolapse, my thyroid is in balance most of the time (and I can see the signs of an imbalance very quickly so it can be corrected), my bladder is pretty happy, I rarely have an issue with kidney stones (so far 2 times in over a decade, and I wasn’t taking care of myself), my panic attacks are VERY few and far in between, my separation anxiety is completely manageable, and my stress is at healthy levels. Yes, I said healthy levels because some stress, the right kind of stress, is healthy and lets our body do it’s job.
With so much distraction out there, it's hard to know where to turn. That's why holistic wellness is so big for me and my clients. I help tune out all that noise and work with you to get you back on track. If you haven't ever started, I will work with you from the ground up to help you achieve your goals.
My Approach
This process isn't a one size fits all. If it was, you wouldn't be reading this and I wouldn't have a job. It all begins with an initial consult I then I will Start building a plan tailored specifically to you. You will take charge implementing some balance into your life with me coaching you along keeping you accountable. My goal is to make it fun and enjoyable while helping you reach your health & wellness goals.
